Title:
Counselor/Jr High Teacher
Classes
Kelli Schwehr

Hello and welcome!  I am Ms. Schwehr.  I grew up on a farm outside of Roundup, Montana.  I attended college at University of Mary in Bismarck, and then Jamestown College (now the University of Jamestown) where I ran cross country.  I then transferred to Montana State University-Billings to be closer to home when my children were small.  I graduated in 1998 with a degree in elementary education (K-8).  I completed my masters in school counseling, with honors, in the 2019.

I have been with Lavina Schools since 1999, and I have had many roles.  I started as a long-term sub in K-2, then spent time as a 3-4 teacher and a kindergarten teacher.  I have taught K-8 health and physical education, many junior high courses, and I have coached both track and volleyball at the junior high and senior high levels.  Currently, I am the school counselor, the 7-8 grade advisor, and I teach four junior high classes.

Away from school, I love to travel and find new food and fun.  Camping and hiking are my favorites, although I don’t get to do them as often as I like.  My children, Michael and Madison, are so important to me.  Michael is currently serving in the U.S. Navy and Madison recently graduated from Montana State University and is working in a law firm in Bozeman as an office manager.  At home, my dogs Penny and Auggie keep me busy, and my cat Rex makes sure all of the rodents around my house disappear.

I look forward to meeting parents and students as we navigate the school year.  If you’d like to contact me, my email address is kschwehr@lavinapublicschools.com and my phone number is (406) 636-2810.
